Sandeep was selected as a finalist in the prestigious 2021 Boosey and Hawkes Worldwide Finzi Art Song Competition.

Inlaks Foundation Grant [March 2022]

Meal One (Musical) with 509 Arts Company [Feb-April 2022]

Sandeep was invited to perform in the musical ‘Meal One’ composed by Felix Cross MBE, directed by Alan Dix and produced by 509 Arts. They embarked on a tour of 7 cities across the UK over 6 weeks ending with a performance at the South Bank Centre in London

International Center of Community Musicians Symposium (ICCM) [Dec 2021]

Sandeep was invited to speak and present at the annual ICCM symposium at York St.Johns Univeristy in York, UK. Sandeep spoke on positionality and inhabiting the third space in the community music sphere.

Nightmare Scenario (Opera) with Opera Sonic [Nov 2021]

Sandeep was invited to portray the role of Habib in ‘Nightmare Scenario’ an opera by Stephen Deazley, Martin Riley and Martin Parker produced by Opera Sonic. Performed at the River Front Arts Centre in Newport, Wales.

Passion, Poison, Petrifaction (Opera) with Pegasus Opera Company [Sept 2021]

Sandeep was invited to portray the role of Adolphus in the Pegasus Opera Production of ‘Poison, Passion and Petrifaction’ at the Royal Academy of Music - an opera by Philip Hagemann based on the play by George Bernard Shaw.

Witchfinder (Opera) by Cohere Arts [June 2021]

Sandeep was invited to portray the title role of Mathew Hopkins (Witchfinder General) in the opera Witchfinder by Amy Mallett. Performances at the historic Walpole Church in Suffolk.

Doctoral Researcher

As of January 2021, Sandeep is a Doctoral Researcher on the Phd Program at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, UK. His research involves creating a sustainable framework of music education in India through devising new works in process oriented workshops.


BBC One Show [Oct 2020]

Sandeep was invited to perform for the BBC One Show, which explored the emotional response to Opera in unusual spaces. Researchers from UCL measured the response of unsuspecting audience members based on Sandeeps performance


Pegasus Opera Company’s Opera Mentoring Programme [Sep 2020]

Sandeep Gurrapadi was invited to be a part of this prestigious program which included mentorship from Sir Willard White, performances at Streatham Space Project, sessions with Tenor Ronald Samm and working with Sam Krum(Robert Gilder and Co - Artist Management)


Silver Spoon (Opera) [Dec 2019]

Sandeep was invited to create and develop the role of Dodi Fayed in the new opera ‘Silver Spoon’ (Based around Princess Diana’s life) composed by Lisa Logan for KeyNote Opera company.

Inaugural Vocal Workshop in Hyderabad - India [Nov 2019]

Sandeep was invited by Jay Parte and Joe Koster from the Hyderabad School of Music in association with Alliance Francaise, Hyderabad to conduct and perform their first vocal health and singing workshop.

Opera and Politics Symposium [June 2019]

Sandeep was invited to speak and conducted a workshop on writing and creating new operatic works in the current cultural landscape. Other speakers include heads of various opera companies ranging from ROH and ENO to Streetwise Opera and Sex Workers Opera. The event was organised by Dr. Guy Harries and Dr. Louise Jackson at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.


 Beijing National Stadium Performance [May 2019]

Sandeep Gurrapadi was invited to China to perform at the Beijing National Stadium as a soloist representing India at the Dialogue of Asian Civilisations Conference for the Chinese President


Masters Degree [April 2019]

Sandeep Gurrapadi was awarded a Distinction in his Masters degree - Master of Arts in Performance and Music Education from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance


Imoinda - A tale of Love and Slavery (Opera) [March 2019]

Sandeep Gurrapadi premiered the role of Oko (Oroonoko) in the Opera - Imoinda - A tale of Love and Slavery composed and conducted by Odaline De La Martinez for the 7th London Festival of American Music. Opera Directed by Barbara Poll


Jonathan Dove Concert [March 2019]

Sandeep was invited to perform the piece ‘The End’ for Tenor, String quartet, Oboe and Clarinet by Jonathan Dove at Blackheath Halls for composers’ (Jonathan Dove) 60th Birthday Celebrations. Curated by Pianist Andrew Mathews-Owen

Sandeep was awarded a full Trinity College London [TCL] Scholarship to continue to pursue the Professional Certification with Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.


A Christmas Carol (Opera) [Dec 2018]

Sandeep portrayed the role of Bob Crachit in the UK revival of Thea Musgrave’s opera ‘A Christmas Carol’ (Based on the Dickens Story) to great success and reviews. TL Symphony Orchestra Conducted by John Pryce-Jones and Opera Directed by Jennifer Hamilton

Chance - The Opera [Dec 2018]

The premiere of Chance - The Opera, written and composed by Sandeep Gurrapadi and Lars Fischer. The opera tells the story of biological and social evolution through an interpretive graphic score. Premiered in Deptford Art Gallery, with further performances in Old Royal Naval College.


Vocal Scholarships [Sept 2018]

Sandeep Gurrapadi was named the recipient of three prestigious scholarships - Kathleen Creed Vocal Scholar, Kathleen Roberts Vocal Scholar and the G.R.E.A.T India British Council Scholar
